Rational 4/03

My topic is Animal Interaction In Wellington. I did this as an attraction because Wellington is full on Families with young children, people who are wanting to learn more about animals, and all destinations are great for tourists visiting Wellington. The relevant rational qualities are, being fulfilled, bright natural environments, educational, social, some attractions are hands on, and adventurous. The Emotive qualities could be relating back to your childhood memories, having special love and kindness towards animals, saving our extinct animals, and too have the passion to learn more about exotic, marine and native animals. My attractions have the ‘attitude’ of being active, happy and a enjoyable day out with friends/family.

The Visual language I have used is sharp, and exiting to read/look at, this is done by negative space, and bright colours. I used a Sans Serif font as a soft, welcoming vibe which related well with my attractions which are full of organic shapes and natural textures and environments. My collages feature Colours relevant to each attraction, the environment the attraction is in, and texture’s/patterns you will find at this attraction. My collages give you a scene of what you will experience at each attraction. The application of grid I have used is spatial, friendly, and easy to follow through to read and understand. What I have learnt from my own process is more about Wellington, and the Animal interactions we have, as well as one on one Interactions with animals we have in our City (such as Island Bay and the contact with the marine life, and close one on ones at the Zoo with some exotic animals). This project has helped me developed my InDesign skills, how to analysis my work thoroughly, and understand when pears are giving me critical feedback its for my benefit, learning type rules, having more scene of type and image layout, how to down size a file and print a Brochure, and many more qualities which I can take with me for future projects.
